NO ONE KNOWS TOMORROW

NO ONE KNOWS TOMORROW
by

It is obvious that nobody knows what tomorrow will offer.  Proverbs 27:1 says, “Do not boast about tomorrow; for you do not know what a day may bring forth.” God keeps the future from us, though He gives us a blink of it, to establish the wonders of His deeds and also to show His supremacy over all things He created. God makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up; He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the dunghill, to seat among the princes and make them inherit the throne of glory.

The story I am about to share shows the wonders of God. The story is all about a State Governor in one of the States in South-south Nigeria, Benedict Ayade and his deputy Iva Esu. When Iva Esu was a Lecturer at Kaduna State Polytechnic in 1975, Benedict Ayade was just a 6-year-old boy in a Primary School in Obudu, Calabar Cross Rivers State, Nigeria. When Benedict was in University doing his Masters degree at University of Ibadan, after his BSc programme at Ambrose Ali University in Benin, Ivara Esu was already a Professor and also Commissioner for Agriculture, Water Resources and Rural Development in Cross Rivers State. When Benedict finished his PhD and he became a Junior Lecturer in Delta State University Abraka, Ivara Esu was already the Dean of Faculty of Agriculture in University of Calabar. When he became a senior lecturer and was working towards publishing journals and making international researches, Professor Ivara Esu was made Vice Chancellor of University of Calabar in the year 2000. When he became a Professor and was appointed as Chairman Ecological Funds and member of Cross River State Poverty Alleviation Board, Prof. Ivara Esu had received a National honour from former President Olusegun Obasanjo as An Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) in 2005 for his patriotic contribution to building of our nation. He was later appointed the Hon. Minister for State for Tourism, Culture and National Orientation in January 2007 and then the Chairman Board of Management FMC Owerri.

In 2011, Benedict ventured into Politics and ran for Senate, He won in a landslide victory. Prof Ivara Esu (OFR) was appointed as Chairman Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital and a National Consultant. In 2015, Prof. (Sen) Benedict Ayade ran for Governor of Cross Rivers State and Prof. Ivara Esu ran as his deputy.

Indeed no one knows tomorrow! Never use your current position to intimidate anyone that crosses your path. No one can tell if you will be at the mercy of the person you have intimidated in the past. Always do well to others. Do not allow your past to haunt your future.
