NSCDC SECURES JUDGEMENT AGAINST DEALERS IN ADULTERATED PETROLEUM PRODUCTS

NSCDC SECURES JUDGEMENT AGAINST AGBOOLA ABIODUN AND OTHERS OVER ILLEGAL DEALING IN PETROLEUM PRODUCTS AND ADULTERATION OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS



NSCDC, Osun State Command won two cases at the Federal High Court, Osogbo in February, 2020. 

On the 12th day of February, 2020, the Federal High Court presided over by Honourable Justice M. A. Onyetenu in Charge Number FHC/OS/4c/2013: FRN V AGBOOLA ABIODUN & ANOTHER convicted and sentenced the 1st Defendant to three years imprisonment without the option of fine while 2nd Defendant was sentenced to two years imprisonment without the option of fine on the counts of illegal dealing in petroleum product and adulteration of petroleum products and the prison terms for the counts are to run concurrently. The court ordered the forfeiture of the tanker registration number XW 321 EKY and the petroleum products contained its compartments to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

On the 28th day of February, 2020, the Federal High Court presided over by Honourable Justice Kuewumi in Charge Number FHC/OS/39C/2013: FRN V AGBOOLA ABIODUN & 3 OTHERS acquitted and discharged 2nd, 3rd and 4th Defendants while the Honourable Court convicted and sentenced the 1st Defendant to five years imprisonment with hard labour on the counts of illegal dealing in petroleum product and adulteration of petroleum products and the prison terms for the counts are to run concurrently. The court ordered the forfeiture of the Tanker registration number XC 287 GNN (OSUN) and the petroleum product contained its compartments to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
