Everyone loves to seek for a better life where there is a conducive atmosphere to rise to stardom quickly. It is a good motive to desire for a better life. It is also a good move to seek for where such opportunities are readily available. That is why many relocate to another country in pursuit of greener pastures.

However, not every pursuit for greener pastures is ordained by God. Not every good intention to relocate to another country is well guided by God. Our intentions to relocate to another region can make or mar God’s ordained plans for us. That is why we must seek for His guidance anytime we intent to make such decision. Proverbs  3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Lot departed from Abraham to settle down in a plain land of Jordan. The land was well watered, beautiful for farming and livestock rearing Genesis 13:10-11. But it was a wrong decision of his life. Lot relocated to the land of Jordan very rich in livestock, in sliver, in gold, maidservants, wife and two beautiful daughters. But when destruction came upon the land of Sodom and Gomorrah, he left without anything other than his two daughters. He lost everything his wife inclusive because of a wrong decision. The two daughters also lost moral values because they mingled with wrong people Genesis 19:30.

Elimelech, his wife Naomi, and his two sons Mahlom and Chilion left Judah to dwell in the country of Moab when there was a famine in the land. Only Naomi and one of her daughters-in-law survived the evil that came over the family in the strange land. Naomi said “I went out full, and the Lord has brought me home again empty” Ruth 1:21.

Isaac would have made terrible mistake of his life if he did not hear clearly from God. God specifically told him not to go to Egypt but to dwell in the land which God said he will tell him Genesis 26:1. He had in mind to relocate because of famine in the land. Isaac sowed in the same land there was famine and reaped in the same year a hundredfold and the Lord blessed him more than enough Genesis 26:12-14.

Seek for His guidance before you decide to relocate to another country lest your good intention to relocate to another country for greener pastures will not become a regret of lifetime.
