THE LIFTER UP OF MY HEAD

THE LIFTER UP OF MY HEAD
by

Life could be so miserable if there is no one to lean on. Life could be so frustrating if you are left alone in the wilderness of life! Life could be hell if there is no one to lift your head up in the journey of life. Thanks to Almighty God, the glory and the lifter of our head.  Psalms 3:3 says “But you O Lord are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head.” Another translation says “But You Lord, are a shield that protects me. You are my glory and the One who restores me” In another word, it means no matter what you are going through in life; no matter the trials or challenges you are going through in life, God is the only One that can defend, strengthen, restore and promote you in life and destiny. God does this irrespective of your background, colour or race. God promotes people from nonentity to celebrity; obscurity to limelight; failure to success; barrenness to fruitfulness; shame to fame.

Hannah, a barren woman became mother of children in I Samuel 2:5. Esther, an orphan was lifted up from obscurity to limelight in Esther 2:17. She became a preferred queen over queen Vashti. Mordecai was promoted from nonentity to celebrity. The man at the gate became man of honour in king’s palace and in the city square in Esther 6:10. Joseph was lifted up from being a prisoner of circumstances of life to become a PRIME MINISTER in a foreign land. These references show that exaltation come neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south, but from Almighty God, the One who organises events of life to work in our favour. Psalm 75:6-7 say “……. But God is the judge; He puts down one and exalts another.” It means promotion only comes from Almighty God, who is able to lift up a man from dunghill and makes him seat with princes, the princes of his people.

However, God may not come down from heaven to promote or help you. He sends His angels in form of men to help us. God used King Saul’s servant to recommend David I Samuel 16:18. God will use someone to recommend you for your promotion in Jesus’ name. God used chief butler for Joseph’s lifting Genesis 41:9. Note this, any other source of promotion other than the one organised by God will end up in regret and shame. Such promotion will end up in calamity. The beginning may be glorious, but the end will be a great disaster. Always seek God as only source of your promotion. If men raise you up without God’s influence, the same people will pull you down in no time.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE PROMOTED

  1. The Word: The Word gives revelation, knowledge and understanding. THE SECRET of promotion are contained in the word. Joshua 1:8 says “This Book of Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Tap into unlimited revelation and knowledge in God’s word, literature books, motivational books, journals etc.
  2. The wilderness experience: Wilderness experience is uncomfortable situation of life; the challenges or trials we are exposed to in life; the strange ordeal we face in life. Wilderness experience shapes our lives in order to bring out the best in us. Wilderness experience is the greatest key to lifting in life. It is not a curse, but a training ground to mould us in order to fit into God’s divine programme for our lives. Wilderness experience is likened to a raw gold passing through fiery fire. The fire refines in order to make the gold glitters. Joseph, David, and Esther passed through the wilderness experiences and they were all celebrated at the end. Even Jesus Christ was in the wilderness for forty days to prepare Him for His assignment in life. If He did not go through the wilderness experience l doubt it if He would have succeeded in His assignment as Saviour of mankind. Samson was endowed with gift from birth without passing though the wilderness experiences. He messed up the grace on the lap of Delilah. King Saul was an accidental king without any wilderness experience. He messed up the grace through disobedience. King David gave Solomon all it takes to reign as a king without any wilderness experience. But King Solomon messed up the grace with strange women.
  3. Humility: It takes humility of the heart to enjoy promotion from God to the end. You must humble yourself. James 4:6 says “But He gives grace. Therefore He says God resists the proud but gives grave to the humble.” King David was very humble person. His humility sustained him as a king before God and men.

No matter may be your present situation; the challenges or trials you are passing through now, have confidence in God and His word. He is arranging the events of life to work out your lifting. God is the glory and the lifter of your head from every situation of life you may find yourself now and in the future.
