In light of the upcoming planned protests in the country, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, Dr. Michael Adaralewa, has issued a stern warning to potential protesters, particularly the youth in the state, urging them to remain law-abiding and refrain from vandalizing Critical National Assets within their communities.

Emphasizing the NSCDC’s core mandate of protecting these assets, Commandant Adaralewa stated, “The command has deployed massive resources to ensure the protection of infrastructure such as petroleum and gas pipelines, communication masts, railways, roads, and bridges, among others. These are vital for the economic and social survival of our country.”

He further instructed Area Commanders and Divisional Officers throughout the state to take this assignment seriously, discharge their duties with the highest level of professionalism, and work in synergy with other sister agencies within the state.

The State Commandant assured the public of their safety as they go about their legitimate activities, affirming that all necessary measures have been implemented to prevent any breakdown of law and order or acts of vandalism by miscreants attempting to exploit the peaceful protests to destroy critical national assets.

“It is our collective responsibility to protect the critical infrastructure in our domains. We must not allow hoodlums to destroy our collective wealth under the guise of protest. I appeal to intending protesters to express their grievances through lawful and peaceful means and to avoid engaging in any activities that could compromise national security and public safety,” said the Osun NSCDC boss.

Commandant Adaralewa also urged parents and guardians to caution their children against being used by individuals seeking to incite trouble under the guise of peaceful protest. He warned that anyone caught engaging in such activities would face the full wrath of the law.
