Irrespective of our status in Christ, we need mercy everyday of our lives. Some are created to enjoy fullness of mercy, while some have to seek for mercy. Irrespective of the position you find yourself, mercy is available to all.
God is a faithful God. He keeps His covenant and mercy for a thousand generations, with those who love Him and keep His commandments Deuteronomy 7:9, “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;” Everything about God is in abundance of His mercy to mankind. When Adam fell in the Garden of Eden through act of disobedience to God’s commandment, the mankind lost communion with God. The mankind lost all the privileges to enjoy the fullness of God. God cursed the land and He said, the earth will bring thorns and thistle to man. Genesis 3:18-19, “18Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
Mankind have to labour day and night before they can satisfy their needs. Because of God’s unending love to mankind, He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to the world. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” He used His only begotten Son as atonement for mankind. His blood shed on the Cross at Calvary, His death and resurrection reconciled us back to our Creator. God’s action was an act of mercy to mankind.
Mercy is defined as compassion and includes: feelings and acts of sympathy, kindness, forgiveness and unconditional love. These are the attributes of mercy, and also attributes of God to us. Being redeemed by the blood of Lamb, we can boldly approach the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need Hebrew 4:16.
We all need a measure of mercy to live a fulfilled life. We all need a measure of mercy to scale through hurdles of life. Irrespective of our status in Christ, we need mercy everyday of our lives. Some are created to enjoy fullness of mercy, while some have to seek for mercy. Irrespective of the position you find yourself, mercy is available to all.
We need mercy before we can approach the throne of God; we need mercy day in day out because we are living in terrible times. In all the challenges of life, we need mercy to prevail. We need mercy to put an end to recurring evil patterns in our lineage.
No matter how bad is your situation; cry out for mercy, you will definitely experience turnaround in the name of Jesus Christ. Do not allow your present predicament to overwhelm you. Never allow it to shut your inner desire from crying out for mercy. The blind man in the Bible cried out loud for mercy. Luke 18:35-42, ‘35And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging: 36And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant. 37And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. 38And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.”
The people around him wanted to keep his mouth shut, but he did not allow their will to prevail over him. He shouted the more until he got the attention of Jesus Christ. Luke 18:39 39And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. 40And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, 41Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. 42And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.”
You must press on until you get the attention of God. When you get His attention, you must be specific about what you desire from Him. As you seek for His mercy, all your petitions shall receive express responses and answers in the name of Jesus Christ.
