The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command has mobilized an impressive 2,350 personnel to guarantee the safety of lives and property during this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

State Commandant Michael Adaralewa, addressing the management team and Tactical Commanders at the State headquarters in Osogbo, emphasized the collective responsibility to ensure a secure environment for all residents and visitors.

“Osun State will witness a significant influx of people,” Commandant Adaralewa stated. “We have strategically deployed personnel to key locations, focusing on identified hotspots. This comprehensive deployment includes both overt and covert operations.”

The deployment features an elite team comprising the Special Armed Squad, Female Armed Squad, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Anti-Cultism Unit, Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Explosive Unit, Special Weapon and Tactical Team, Counter-Terrorism Unit, and Disaster Management Unit.

Public places such as markets, prayer grounds, recreational centers, motor parks, and shopping malls will be under tight security. Commandant Adaralewa stressed the importance of safeguarding Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

Assuring the public of a hitch-free celebration, Commandant Adaralewa revealed that operational teams would conduct constant patrols across the state to thwart any criminal activities during and after the festivities.

He urged the public to celebrate responsibly and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency immediately.

In his message to the Muslim faithful, Commandant Adaralewa encouraged the propagation of peace, love, forgiveness, and tolerance, promoting harmonious co-existence in the state. He advised travelers to avoid over-speeding and night journeys for a safe celebration.

As we celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, let’s come together in unity and ensure a peaceful and joyous occasion for all.
