The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) OYO State Command has strengthened ties with the Nigeria Customs Service to curb crime, smuggling, as well as for protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure against vandals and economic saboteurs in the State.

Commandant Micheal Adaralewa made this known while playing host to the newly deployed Customs Area Comptroller, Oyo/Osun Area Command, Babajide Jaiyeoba and his team as part of his familiarization tour of security formations across the Zone.

The State Commandant assured the Area Comptroller of his commitment to support the Nigeria Customs Service to meet its statutory obligations of curbing smuggling and other related criminal activities.

He added that the visit by the new Area Comptroller would not only enhance the existing partnership between the two agencies but will provide opportunities to discuss other areas of common concern and promote unity among its officers.

In his response, the new Customs Area Comptroller commended the efforts of

NSCDC OYO STATE Command in maintaining peace and order in the State.

He emphasized the need for unity and cooperation among security agencies in order to decimate the nation’s common enemies breeding insecurity in different parts of the country.

He however assured the Commandant of absolute Cooperation with the NSCDC in the Protection of lives and property of government and the civil populace in Oyo State.

The State Commandant seized the occasion to advice members of the public to remain vigilant at this critical period and report any criminal activities or suspicious movements of persons or groups for prompt intervention of security agencies so that the State can continue to enjoy peace and tranquility.
