Power of perseverance is the inner strength that makes obstacles become stepping stones to greatness in life. It is the will power that propels someone to pursuit his dream in life despite the present predicaments. It is the eye that sees the light at the end of the tunnel.

The Great Chicago Fire of 1871, said to have started in a barn on Southwest side of Chicago, Illinois. The fire burned through the heart of Chicago, killing 300 people and leaving one-third of the city’s population homeless. More than 17,000 structures were destroyed and damages were estimated at $200million. The fire consumed Marshall Field’s stores along with others stores in the city. After the Great Chicago Fire, a group of merchant stood in State Street, looking at smoking remains of what had been their superstores. They all reached a decision except one to leave Chicago.

Despite the tremendous misfortune, Marshall Field insisted on reconstruction, he pointed a finger at the remains of his once vibrant store and said, “Gentlemen, on that very spot I will build the world’s greatest store, no matter how many times it may burn down.” Years after, the same store (officially Marshall Field & Company) stands the test of time. That is what power of perseverance can do. The greatest weapon God has given the mankind is power of perseverance for those who know how to use it. Never allow present predicaments to cage your vision. Never allow present failure deny you future success. Be POSITIVE. Keep saying what you want to be and not what you are now. There is no mistake as great as the mistake of not going on in life.
