Where praise is present, God is present; and where God is present, anything can happen.

“It is the will of God to give thanks to Him.” Thanksgiving is not just a spiritual exercise—it is the will of God for every believer. It is an attitude, a lifestyle, and a command. God desires that His people acknowledge Him with gratitude at all times. 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Thanksgiving keeps us connected to God, aligns us with His purpose, and invites His presence into our lives. The Bible also tells us that God dwells in the atmosphere of praise: Psalm 22:3, “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.”

Where praise is present, God is present; and where God is present, anything can happen.

MODE OF WORSHIP AND PRAISING GOD

PRAISING GOD WITH HYMNS

Hymns are spiritual songs inspired by the Word of God. They carry doctrine, truth, and deep spiritual meaning. Hymns teach, strengthen faith, and remind us of God’s character and promises. Ephesians 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Why hymns matter:

  • They proclaim the greatness of God.
  • They edify and strengthen believers.
  • They bring comfort and spiritual depth.
  • They reinforce doctrine and scriptural truths.

Examples of biblical hymns: Mary’s song (Luke 1:46–55), Moses’ Song (Exodus 15), Deborah’s Song (Judges 5). Hymns are a powerful form of praise that teach, uplift, inspire, and honor God.

PRAISING GOD WITH SINGING AND DANCING

Singing and dancing are joyful expressions of praise that come from a heart overflowing with gratitude. God loves expressive praise—praise that involves the voice, the body, and the whole being. Psalm 149:3 “Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.” Psalm 150:4 “Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.” Psalm 100:1–2, “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.”
Dancing before the Lord was practiced by great men in the Bible.
David danced before God with all his might. 2 Samuel 6:14, “And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.”

Why singing and dancing matter:

  • They express joy and freedom.
  • They signify victory.
  • They break spiritual heaviness.
  • They create an atmosphere of divine presence.
  • They silence the enemy.

Praise through singing and dancing lifts burdens and opens the heavens.

PRAISE THROUGH WORSHIP

Worship goes beyond songs. It is a posture of the heart—reverence, surrender, and adoration before God. Worship acknowledges who God is, not just what He has done. John 4:23–24, “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
Psalm 95:6, “O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.” Revelation 4:11, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

The power of worship:

  • It draws you into intimacy with God.
  • It reveals the heart of the Father.
  • It transforms the believer.
  • It brings divine direction.
  • It produces peace and spiritual strength.

Worship is the highest form of praise because it comes from a heart fully surrendered.

PRAISE THROUGH PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving is a form of prayer that acknowledges God’s goodness, mercy, and faithfulness. It is not asking God for anything—it is appreciating Him for everything. Philippians 4:6, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Psalm 107:1, “O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” Psalm 92:1, “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High.” Psalm 95:2, “Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.”

Why prayer of thanksgiving matters:

  • It brings you into God’s presence.
  • It opens doors (Psalm 100:4).
  • It multiplies blessings.
  • It brings peace (Philippians 4:7).
  • It shows faith in God’s sovereignty.
  • Jesus Himself practiced thanksgiving prayer: John 11:41, “And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.”

Thanksgiving is the key that unlocks miracles.

In conclusion, God desires a life of continuous thanksgiving and praise. When we praise Him through hymns, singing and dancing, worship, and prayer of thanksgiving, we align ourselves with His will and attract His presence into our lives.

Praise:

  • Releases God’s power
  • Invites God’s presence
  • Brings deliverance
  • Breaks chains
  • Opens doors
  • Produces joy
  • Strengthens the believer

Let your life be a daily offering of praise.
