Anger is an intense expression of emotion. It involves a strong uncomfortable and hostile response to a perceived provocation, hurt or threat. Anger is a strong feeling of grievance and displeasure that makes someone commits regrettable deadly mistake if not properly managed. Most times, the scars of anger linger forever.
A father taught his little boy a lesson about uncontrolled anger. The father gave him bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail on a concrete fence. On the first day of his lesson, the little boy hammered 40nails into the fence. Within a few weeks, he began to control his anger, so the number of nails that were hammered into the fence reduced drastically! Some weeks after, the little boy discovered that it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Then, there came a day when he never lost his temper for even once. With overwhelming joy, he told his father, “Dad, I know how to control my anger now!” His father smiled and asked him to pull out one nail for each day that he could hold his temper! Several weeks went by and the day finally came when the young boy was able to tell his father that all the nails were gone! His father led him to the fence and said, “You have done very well, my son. But look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same again! When you do things in anger, you leave permanent scars just like the holes of the nails you removed. And no matter how many times you say you are sorry, the wound will still be there.”
Every expression of anger not properly managed will definitely leave a permanent scar. Anger ruins, it makes someone to commit regrettable actions. A man fills with anger will live in bitterness; he mind will be troubled every second, he will never enjoy a moment of peace. He will be aggressive always, ready to fight back against anyone that offends him. Show me an angry man and l will tell you a story of a foolish man. He will use years to labour, but few seconds to scatter the fruits of his labour. Quench the spirit of anger before it consumes you! Any time you are angry, always remember the scars of the anger!
