The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi State Command, Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde, paid a courtesy visit to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) Bauchi Office on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. The visit, which took place at 11:00 am, aimed to solidify the working relationship between the two agencies.
During the visit, Commandant Oyerinde addressed the ICPC Resident Commissioner, Bello Idris Bakori, represented by his second-in-command. He commended the ICPC for its pivotal role in combating corruption and fostering accountability in Bauchi State. He also acknowledged the existing collaboration between the NSCDC and ICPC, emphasizing the need for continuous cooperation.
The Commandant requested specialized training for NSCDC personnel on handling cases of job racketeering, in line with directives from the national headquarters. He noted that such training would enhance the professionalism and operational efficiency of the command. He further assured the ICPC of the NSCDC’s readiness to collaborate on areas of mutual concern within the state.
Responding on behalf of the Resident Commissioner, the representative applauded the NSCDC for its tireless efforts in protecting lives and property in Bauchi State. He assured the command of ICPC’s unwavering support and cooperation in its operations.
To mark the occasion, the ICPC presented Commandant Oyerinde with a copy of The Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000, symbolizing their shared commitment to upholding integrity and justice.
