The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command has reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding the infrastructure and assets of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). This assurance was made during a courtesy visit by TCN Regional Manager, Engr. Adesina, to the State Commandant of NSCDC, Igbalawole Sotiyo, on Monday, December 9, 2024.

Commandant Sotiyo emphasized the Corps’ mandate to protect critical national assets and infrastructure (CNAI), reiterating its focus on preventing vandalism and sabotage of TCN facilities, including transmission lines and substations. “The protection of critical assets like those of TCN is not just our responsibility but our priority,” Sotiyo said.

Engr. Adesina commended the NSCDC for consistently delivering on its mandate to secure essential infrastructure nationwide. “We are grateful for the NSCDC’s unwavering support and commitment to protecting our assets. Together, we can ensure the security and efficiency of our power transmission network,” he noted.

The renewed partnership between NSCDC and TCN is expected to bolster efforts in safeguarding power infrastructure, ensuring a steady and uninterrupted electricity supply for national development. This collaboration aligns with the government’s drive to enhance energy security and curb power sector challenges caused by infrastructure sabotage.

The visit reinforced the shared resolve of both organizations to prioritize the security of critical national infrastructure, laying a foundation for enhanced cooperation in the future.
