Note this! do not allow anybody on your path to success to push you against God’s will for your life. Always be conscious of every step you are taking lest you become victim of another man’s error.

Everyone is born for a particular purpose on earth. You have an ordained plan from God to fulfill in your lifetime. No one is born as nonentity, you are born as celebrity. You are not nobody, you are somebody. You are purposely and uniquely created for a particular assignment on earth. Note this! you are also well endowed and equipped with all it takes to fulfill that purpose.

Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jeremiah was ordained as prophet to the nations by God.

God used Hosea to portray message of repentance to God’s people. His ordained purpose to Israelites was a call to repentance and faithfulness. Hosea 1:2, “The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of harlotry and children of harlotry: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.” The Lord instructed Hosea to marry a prostitute named Gomer. He took her as his wife, but Gomer kept wandering into the arms of other lovers. She was unfaithful. And yet the Lord told Hosea to keep going after her again and again, and bring her back home. Hosea was a picture of God, and Gomer represented God’s people. God’s people were called to live in a covenant relationship with the Lord. He was their God and they were to have no other gods in their life. They consistently rebelled against God and chased after other idols. Their history was full of unfaithfulness.

Nehemiah was called by God to rebuild the broken wall of Jerusalem. Nehemiah 2:5, “And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it.”

Daniel was endowed with the gift of prophecy, spiritual capacity to interpret dream, he was an administrator, and also an intercessor. Samson was ordained to be a deliverer of Israelites from Philistines. Moses was ordained to lead Israelites from captivity to liberty and also to Promised Land. Joseph was ordained as preserver of lives in his generation.

WHAT HELPED THEM TO FULFILL THEIR PURPOSES?

What helped them to fulfill their purposes? All of them made sacrifices. They paid dearly before they attained the higher heights the Lord has ordained for them. God may reveal your future to you, but He may not show you the paths to get to the future He has shown you. You must pay prices to bring the dream to reality. Sacrifice is part of the processes to fulfill that ordained purpose in your lifetime. If you cannot pay the price, the crown of glory ahead of you will fade away. If you cannot make sacrifices, your ordained purpose on earth will suffer a great set back. It may eventually end up not being fulfilled.

WHAT ARE THE SACRIFICES TO PAY?

SELF-DISCIPLINE:

Self-discipline is one of the sacrifices you must make for you to fulfill your purpose in your lifetime. You must be disciplined in all things and at all times. Discipline in every aspect of your endeavours in life. You must discipline yourself about the way you talk, what you allow to rule over your mind, relationship with the opposite sex, what you eat, where and how to eat, your associate with people at large etc.

Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers because they were envious of his dream. From slavery to prison because he did not compromise with the request of his master’s wife, Mrs. Potiphar. Genesis 39:9, “There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” Joseph sacrificed everything for his dream to come to pass. Genesis 41:39-41, “39And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: 40Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. 41And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.”

Daniel did not defile himself with king’s delicacies. Daniel 1:8, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” He did not allow his spirit, soul and body to be corrupted by king’s special meals. He stood out among all the administrators in his time. Daniel 1:19-20, “19And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. 20And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.”

Samson lost his power and position to rule over his people because of lust for foreign women. He did not guard the words of his mouth with all diligence. His lust for foreign women made him revealed the secret of his power on the lap of Delilah.

He lost his eyes and became object of ridicule in the presence of his enemies. Judges 16:18-21, “18And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand. 19And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him. 20And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him. 21But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house. “

Moses lost his position because of anger. The Scripture recorded that nobody was as meek as Moses. But the people he was leading pushed him until he expressed his anger and disobeyed God in the process. He could not get to Promised Land because of this singular action. Note this! do not allow anybody on your path to success to push you against God’s will for your life. Always be conscious of every step you are taking lest you become victim of another man’s error.

King Saul lost his position as a result of disobedient. The throne was taken away from him. God gave the throne to David.

Esau lost his birthright because of food and disobedient. Genesis 25:30-34 , “30And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom. 31And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? 33And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. 34Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.” Esau disregarded God’s law, married women outside of Israel, and didn’t respect his birthright. Esau was excluded from the lineage that would have lead to Jesus Christ. Instead, God chose Jacob, who was flawed, yet faithful, to carry on His promise to Isaac and Abraham.

STRONG OPPOSITIONS:

You will definitely face strong oppositions in the process to fulfill your ordained purpose in your lifetime. The first opposition against Joseph was his brethren. Sanballat and Tobiah led strong opposition against the rebuild of broken wall of Jerusalem. Nehemiah 4:7-9,“7But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, 8And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it. 9Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.”

You must stand firm against all odds in order to fulfill your purpose in your lifetime.

DESERTION:

People will desert you just because of your dream. They will call you names just to discourage you. But never allow any of their acts to discourage from pursuing your dream to reality.

What are your visions, revelations, and promises God has shown you? You have many sacrifices to make in order to bring them to reality. You must discipline yourself, stand for what is true, be faithful in all things and at all times, move with godly people, and always listen to divine guidance from God. Your ordained purpose shall be fulfilled in your lifetime in the name of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER:

  1. Oh Lord, give me clear revelation of my purpose on earth in the name of Jesus Christ.
  2. Oh Lord, help me to make sacrifices required to obtain glory ahead of me in the name of Jesus Christ.
  3. Oh Lord, by Your mercy and grace, do not allow my faith to fail me in the seasons of trials in the name of Jesus Christ.
  4. Oh Lord, I receive power to fulfill my ordained purpose on earth in the name of Jesus Christ.
