Every Easter, we celebrate the remembrance of the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross at Calvary, His blood that was shed and His resurrection. Till this world will end, we will continue to celebrate Him, because of what He did to mankind. The mysteries behind His birth, His name, His death, the blood He shed and His resurrection are mysteries the mankind will continue to talk about till the end of this world.

How can someone’s name save the mankind, how can someone’s death redeem the whole world from eternal condemnation, the blood He shed use as an atonement for the sins of the whole world and His resurrection deliver the whole world from the eternal death?

The revelations of His birth, His name, His death, shedding of His blood and His resurrection were prophesied by many prophets before Him. Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 7:14, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 53:5, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Leviticus 17:11, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”

Isaiah 11:1-2, “1And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;”

WHO IS JESUS CHRIST?

Some verses of the Scripture established unquestionable facts about Jesus Christ as the Son of God. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Luke 1:31-32, “31And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:”

His conception was not as a result of a man and a woman sexual relationship; it was as a result of Holy Spirit, coming upon a virgin to conceive and bring forth a child. God also confirmed His Sonship in Matthew 3:17, “And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”  Mark 1:10-11, “10And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: 11And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” This was also revealed to Peter, John and James at the mountain of transfiguration in Luke 9:35, “And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.”

WHY HE DID GIVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON TO DIE FOR THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD?

The fall of first Adam brought Jesus Christ on board to reconcile mankind to God. God gave the first Adam everything after He breathed the breath of life upon him. Genesis 1:28, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

Adam was operating in an unusual spiritual capacity through the inspiration of the Spirit of God in Him. He named all the creatures created by God, the birds in the air, those in seas and those on ground. Genesis 2:19, “And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.”

He enjoyed daily communion with God. God warned him specifically about a particular tree in the Garden of Eden where he was. He said on the day you eat the fruit of this tree, you will surely die. Genesis 2:17, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Satan in his craftiness lured him through his wife Eve to disobey God’s commandment. Adam lost everything. Through his sin of disobedience, the evil orchestrated by Satan came upon the mankind. Adam lost his fellowship with God. He was stripped off of God’s glory. The peace, joy and comfort from God were taken away from him. The mankind was condemned to eternal death. Since then mankind have been struggling to regain the lost glory until Jesus Christ came to rescue us from the hands of Satan. God’s love for us led to that provision for Jesus Christ to die for us. Jesus Christ is the life and light of men. John 1:4, “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”

He restores the divine authority Satan took from us. His death, His blood and resurrection reconcile us back to our God. He also gives us eternal life after death. Salvation is available to everyone irrespective of whom you are, your age, race, status, your past and present. Whatever you might have done in the past, He is your access key to be reconciled to God. If you are willing to surrender all to Him, He will definitely accept you. If you come with genuine repentance, He will take over your life and give you a new start in Him.

There is no other way to eternal life other than Him. John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Use this season to retrace your path to Him. Do not allow His death be in vain. Surrender all to Him and He will deliver you from captives of the works of flesh in Galatians 5:19-21, “19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

There is nothing hidden in the sight of God. Whatever you have done, doing now, be it good or evil will be revealed on the judgment day. But if you can come to Him today, His blood will wipe away all your sins and give you a new identity in Christ Jesus. Hebrew 12:24, “And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.”

We have a high priest, standing in front of God interceding for us day and night. Hebrew 4:15-16, “15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Do not allow His death to be in vain, surrender all to Him today.
